If you believe in the merits of a final, deciding, win-all championship game (and it seems that you do judging by your defense of the NFL and its Super Bowl), then we can. Such playoff games simply mean more than regular season games (in the same way that winning the US Open in golf means more than winning the John Deere Open). In this specific case of 2011 Alabama, though, you could even use the eye test to make that determination.
