Reddit Posts Poll Asking Who the Best Coach Is
Obviously I'm going to take heat for it here (take it to a Pats forum ya bastard!), but I'm honestly shocked by this.
Belichick won unanimously. 574 votes all put him #1. 100%, that is like Kim Jong Il territory (as one commenter noted). I know many/most consider him the best coach, but seriously, there wasn't one guy who loved, whoever, Harbaugh, McCarthy or whatever? That just hated "Belicheat"? Wow. http://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments...oaches/cmjeoef Here’s the raw votes if anyone wants to use them: Name 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Bill Belichick 574 John Harbaugh 180 122 51 39 Bruce Arians 10 231 171 40 Pete Carroll 100 69 141 10 Jim Harbaugh 133 91 7 Chip Kelly 9 17 318 Sean Payton 103 58 55 Mike McCarthy 92 8 26 Andy Reid 41 49 Tom Coughlin 3 13 |

P.S. is there a way to get columns to line up somehow?

Hey uh, guys, okay, so I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I'm not here to gloat. It's just like, you know, I'm SHOCKED that Belichick is ranked SO HIGH and that so many people perceive him to be the best coach in the league. It's like... flooring, you know?

Peyton Manning should have been an option.

Wait, where did I say I wasn't here to gloat? Let me be clear -- I am, in fact, here to gloat. My post was more "I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but here, let me gloat. See, graph!" Or at least that is what I was shooting for. (after all, I have had "In BB I trust" as my motto on here for basically forever.

1. Reddit is hardly representative of anything. There are over 20k subscribers to the Patriots subreddit compared to 5k for Kansas City's for example. And the median age of redditors is around 30.
2. No one will be able to really evaluate Belichick until Brady retires. |

And we can't evaluate Vince Lombardi because he retired when he had Bart Starr and all those other star players at Green Bay (ignoring that one year with the Redskins)?

They should have posted the poll the night Andy Reid wiped his ass with Belicheat's hobo sweatshirt.

Neither did Belichick. That story was completely recanted, with the reporter apologizing. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3398828 Quote:

You're confusing Spygate (the taping of defensive signals during a game), which is what the Patriots were penalized for, from the very separate allegation that the Patriots taped a St. Louis Rams practice before the 2001/02 Super Bowl. That second "event" was reported by the Boston Herald, and then they withdrew that story, apologizing profusely, for their mistake. Since SNR said what he said below, I wanted to be sure that nobody thought that second "event", which never happened, actually did happen. Quote:

If Belichick ever wins some hardware without Brady, or if he wins something post-Spygate, I would probably vote him among the best of all time.
