IIRC, they had to use Berry in tandem with Peters/Smith in the second half after giving up 160 and 2 TD's in the first half.

The common reason given for that was he/they are force fed the ball because of a 1-read QB and a lack of options.

So what's Sammy's excuse? He too was the best option playing with a 1-read QB.

KC has lost Peters, Parker, DJ, Hali and possibly Gaines/Logan. They also have Berry returning from a blown Achilles.

They need to go defense...Tyrann Mathieu/Wilkerson.

Watson would be cool...but not necessarily a "need".

You view these as reasons, i see them as excuses.

I see a receiver that failed to produce in any meaningful way despite being the #1 receiving option. Run first offense be damned.

I see a guy that may be getting paid 14M+ to be the #3 receiving option on this team.

I understand that he has potential. I understand that he's a bigger, speedy guy.

But up to this point, he has not produced. Excuses be damned. And the plan is to pay him #1 or #2 type money to be a #3 guy.

He burnt smith 6 times in the first half and then we had berry help and he got nothing. Nothing in the 2nd half. We shut the whole team down

It was like a chiefs playoff game but the other way around.

The team needs talent. I'm not against signing Watkins. I just don't think he's worth the reported $14M+

Had 982 his rookie year. Missed half of 2016. 8 TDs last year.

Did you also see he only had 982 yards on 128 targets?

He's young and they'd be paying for future production they think he can produce in this system. I'm all for doing that vs paying for older broken down vets past production.

But at 14 per it'd be tough

There are so many Day 2 options that I'm not sure why we're dying to overpay for a maybe at WR.

I'd rather spend the money on a stud for the front 7 instead of a bunch of dropping 15 a year on bad wheels McGhee.
