Let’s talk about the Miami Dolphins

Headed down to a familiar location for the Florida heat and a highly formidable opponent.

The Dolphins have a great defense, a mediocre at best offense. Not all that different from Denver really, but coached better.

A win would clinch the AFCW for the 5th straight season, so there is some added importance. Of course we are on Pittsburgh’s heels, too.

I think we all aren’t totally sure what to make of the team at this point. They’ve been inconsistent in their focus, their execution. There seem to be problem areas that could be upgraded by simply plugging a backup in (hi, Wis), but it remains to be seen if any changes are going to be made.

It’s a weird league where outcomes are all over the place, winning is really damn hard, but they’re still 11-1 and largely look to be on cruise control half the time. I do think there’s something to be said for the GS Warriors comparison where sometimes they just don’t flip the switch until they have to. I guess we will see what happens as the games get bigger and bigger for this team.

This one won’t be easy, but if the offense comes out locked in from the go, it shouldn’t be a scare. I also think it’s another opportunity for the defense to perform well again, but I still feel like we need more from our pass rush along the DL moving forward.

Game is at noon on CBS...

Supposed to be a high of 80 on Sunday in Miami, so weather will be perfect for some Football!

My analysis comes down to one thing: Mahomes v. Tua.....end of story.

Seriously, I think it will be a hard fought game, closer than what many will think....Phins aren't a bad team, just not quite there yet either....

It will probably be similar to last nights game.

Denver would be a lot better with competent QB play.

I picked the 9ers in my picks pool. But I’m also picking the Bills to beat Pittsburgh next week.

Miami isn’t very good. They’ve mostly beaten bad teams.

The two possible playoff teams they’ve beaten (Rams and Cardinals) both significantly out gained the Dolphins in yardage. Those wins were flukes. Dolphins won the turnover battle in both.

As long as we don’t turn the ball over, we’ll be fine.

Statistically, the Dolphins defense isn’t actually much different than the Chiefs (believe it or not).

Total Yards Per Game:
Dolphins 355 16th
Chiefs 358 17th

Points Per Game:
Dolphins 17.7 2nd
Chiefs 21.2 6th

Takeaways:
Dolphins 21 2nd
Chiefs 19 7th

Same. And I'm in a pool with a bunch of Bills fans so it should be a nice swing for me.

The niners have everyone of importance back from injury on both sides of the ball (except for Kittle of course). I have a feeling it will look a little like our game against the Bills.

Vegas knows.

Always follow the money . . . . .

There’s a reason Chiefs are still strong SB favorites according to Vegas oddsmakers.

They have there warts, but so does every team. We’ll be fine.

And look for the 49er’s to take care of business against the Bills tonight. Again, Vegas knows.

When was the last time we had a team that didn’t have “warts”?

It’s a capped league. You’re never going to be perfect

Like every game we play, this should be an absolute blowout where the Chiefs take control and don't even let the Dolphins have a spark of hope all day. 100% guaranteed. I'll be watching purely for enjoyment sake of watching the Chiefs destroy another helpless victim.

Never joined another teams forum, but I hope KC doesn't throttle Miami. I actually tune in to watch Mahomes, Kelce and Tyree. Those guys are just flat out fun to watch.

Some of the posters on the Miami forum think we have a chance, realistically we just don't match up with you guys anywhere so I don't know where their line of thinking is coming from.

Here's to hoping we keep it around a 10 point spread.

Good luck and this is by far one of the classiest forums compared to some other fanbases.

Just saw a stat about Tua getting the ball out in 2.38 seconds yesterday, with only Rivers getting it out faster. So in other words, don't expect our pass rush to get home much if at all. Now, the positive is that will mean he hopefully won't have time to try and push it down the field. But our tackling had better be good and the run defense needs to pull their head out of their asses.

I think that is an overstatement.

They have looked good against struggling/bad offenses, but they have struggled against the better offensive teams on their schedule (i.e. Josh Allen had 400+ yards passing on them).

Flores will bring that Belichick defensive scheme that has caused the Chiefs some problems in the past, but their defensive personnel is nothing special.
