No shit. Just resign them now. Spread the new cash hit over this coming year and next. Just do it Veach. It’ll only cost more if you wait.

It’s gonna come down to the numbers with George. I’d offer him 5% more of Rousseau’s deal but if he wants North of $24 million APY I think you have to take contingencies unless he proves it this year.

He’s a really good player but he isn’t “the guy” like a Trey Hendrickson, at least not yet. He needs other players around him to help him.

I want to see him be a true asset kicker and rack up 12+ sacks this year.

This is all well and good unless we choose to INSTEAD sign Trey Smith to some huge deal. Would much rather have George.

We will see. Depends on how much they ask for. If Karlaftis is looking for 30 plus Million a year then I think Veach tells him to find it elsewhere.

Not sold on a top-25 pass rusher who is only 24 years old? Know what Trey Hendrickson was doing at 24? Playing special teams. He had a better season at 23 than Clowney ever had, and people jerk off around here to sign him every offseason. Etc.

There are maybe 7-8 consistently elite pass rushers in the NFL. After that, it's a bunch of guys that bounce around between 6 and 12 sacks, usually with several years between those 10-12 sack seasons.

Karlaftis is a very good player who is getting better each season. He's easily worth that 5th year option tag.

not everyone can be Derrick Thomas or Bruce Smith but he's pretty damn good for us. Best LE we've had since Neil Smith probably.

it's kinda like back in the day when we drafted simms. he was only good in college because he was playing next to a stud named julius peppers.

my gut says his production is purely tied to working on the same line as CJ.

i like the guy, not saying his fifth shouldn't be picked up, i just think if he was on any other line, he wouldn't be as good.

He was a major factor in the playoffs. Including a 3 sack game, he's a baller

I wouldn't want Veach to give him a Myles Garrett type of deal or anything too close to that even if he has a monster season and I think he will. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds. We got them for at least 2 more seasons. I'd prioritize McDuffie tho, he's special especially if he can be in the slot and he should be able to this year
