Some of these aren't exactly secrets, but I'm constantly suprised by the people I run across that have no idea wtf they are:
Run Lola Run - mandatory viewing material....German with English subtitles Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - great flick, and I'm suprised constantly at how many people haven't seen this. Word for word from the book. Beautifully done by Depp and Del Toro. Primer - Yes. That is all. Safe Men - Great comedy with Sam Rockwell (loved his stuff before he got "discovered") and Steve Zahn. SEE THIS MOVIE. It's kind of hard to get ahold of, but well worth it. Imdb entry :edit: spelling~

Great Movies That You've Never Heard Of
"The Hunger" I saw it on HBO about 1985, it came out 1983. Stars David Bowie as a vampire who needs a constant supply of new victims for their blood or he begins to age, it's got a real slick production style. If your a fan of Bauhaus, Peter Murphy performs "Bela Lagosi's Dead" in a night club scene. It's made by Tony Scott, same guy that made a bunch of popular films later like "Top Gun". "Blood Simple" I saw it on HBO about the same time. The Coen Brothers first flick, they made it for $800K borrowed from family and friends. Stars Francis McDormand, quirky film with Hitchcock type photography, it's right up there with Fargo and Raising Arizona. "Joe" saw it in the theaters in 1971, came out 1970. It was Peter Boyle's first lead role, he plays a super red neck that shoots his mouth off at a bar the whole flick and ends up doing something bad. I haven't seen it in almost 35 years but I still remember it. |

It took 163 posts to get 2 Days in the Valley up here? For shame!
Teri Hatcher and Charlize Theron in a catfight is almost worth it, and James Spader nails his role as an assassin. |

Read thru all replies. Did not see Laurel Canyon. Absolutely a sleeper in I believe late 2002 or early 2003 with Christian Bale, Kate Beckinsale, Frances McDormand, and Alessandro Nivola. Great flick! Hilarious ending!
Check it out. Let me know. |

"Body Heat"- 1982(?) Rented it years ago just to see Kathleen Turner's titties, but the story really drew me in. She owned William Hurt in this one, in more ways than one.
