I went out to the crash site once when I was in the area. I didn't see any town though. It is way out in the country in Chase County. Small planes crashes were plentiful during this era. Avaiation was only 25 years old.

Isnt it not too far south of topeka? on the way down to Wichita.

They have a memorial to Knut at the rest area run by Matfield Green off the turnpike (335).

We've also had Doug Weaver and Terry Allen. They crashed and burned just like Knut Rockne.
