What an amazing day/night/morning!!! It still hasn't sunk in yet and doesn't seem real. I was in Clemson this weekend and watched the Saturday night game at a bar on the campus. A group of about 8 of us walked in and saw that our Gators women's Lacrosse team was there so we took over the bar for the entirety of the game.

Tonight I went with a group to the O'Connell Center to watch the game with my closest 5,000 friends. What a rush!!! After the game it was time to pour out onto University Avenue and CELEBRATE!!

I can't believe we are National Champs and that it happened while I was here. Kick-ass.

For those of you who watched, I was in that mass of orange jumping all around when they showed a live shot of the O'Dome in GVille.

Congrats! Hell of a job by the SEC this year with UK on a down year. my only complaint is why the **** are you on here when your team just won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP????????? Good God Son! Go celebrate, it's the first NC for Florida and you're on here. I want to hear about this tomm after being arrested and jailed overnight.

Anyway, I've met Taurean. He's a real nice kid. It was comical to see him acting like he was in a rap video.

I wonder if it will matter at all that one of Darius's friends just won a National Championship. Maybe he'll hear how great it felt and get motivated to do the same instead of taking a shot at being the 11th man on some angry NBA coach's bench.

Another funny fact...

Coach Donovan ran off Orien Greene, one of the greatest players ever to come out of Gainesville, and now built his offense around PG Taurean Green

Heh. True. Went out and celebrated for a couple of hours in the mob. Started dying down a little so left. Lots of work in the morning (they should give us slack, but graduate engineering courses don't). There will be more celebrating tomorrow and through the week & weekend

Congratulations. The game was a little disappointing to me though. You guys probably could have still won if you just counted your dunks. I hadn't seen many of Florida's games before that and didn't realize that that Noah guy was so good.

4 thoughts here:

Congratulations to Florida and it's fans. I remember watching billy Donovan's team cheating hard but also playing well back in 2000 against Michigan State, I knew they'd be back in it very soon.

Dak - We don't need to see pictures of drunken Florida Students roaming the streets when we can see that any week of football season (or the rest of the year for that matter)

At least in those pictures the players weren't flashing their gang signs like the "Fab 5" at Michigan did all season long before Chris W. choked away the title.

I hate to say this but they should be applauded for not burning down their city.
