the way I figure it **** can be a verb or a noun
while **** is almost always a noun
so when some one is being called a whiny little ****
it probably is a four letter word ending in unt, not being a female relative

**** is usually used in conjuction with other suffixes and or prefixes...
er,up, head, mother, in one or more combination

just my take on figureing out what got censored

The short answer is that vBulletin handles censorship dramatically differently than SimpleMachines from a technical standpoint. Putting in any kind of user-level censorship would increase our server load pretty significantly.

It might be possible to create a new "style" that's a subset of Full Featured that removes the censors. It would have to be based on replacements, though, which might be a pain. If it's really that big of a deal to people, I can look into it.

I would be curious to know what the community as a whole thinks, though I make no guarantees to make a policy change based on that feedback. Profanity doesn't bother me in the least, but I know people have always wanted to at least fool themselves into thinking this is a "family" site, so we've always enforced the word filters.
