Life GOing in for inguinal hernia surgery in the morning

Yeah, that's right. TinyEvel is so friggen strong he pushes his own guts through his abdominal wall!

(this is my second, I already had the one side done five years ago, now it's the left, so I know what to expect. )

Had one done back in 2001.

Have a nice 3" half-moon scar to show for it - ****ing doctor didn't bother to tell me it could have been done via laproscopy.

Nothing better than getting home, puking off the anesthesia just a few hours after your abdominal muscles were ****ing butchered.

Good times.

I did mine during the NCAA Tourney 1st weekend. Laid in the chair for three days with frozen veggies and non stop B-Ball. Makes it worth while.

My first one, the pain pills constipated me. Trying to shit a cueball with a sewn abdomen = pain and frustration.

I'm downing Milk of Magnesia this time, and will eat nothing but vegetable soup, oatmeal and fruit for a week at least.

Lapro is kinda a tough one. Mine's conventional, and I think I might even be awake, but sedated. THey do an inguinal block with local anesthetic. Kinda like my vasectomy, but they better jack me up with Xanex or something cuz during the vas I almost passed out hyperventilated at the thought of my junk getting tied in a knot like a cherry stem.

So you have weak abs?

What was the cause of yours?: "Straining, heavy lifting, coughing or being overweight increases the pressure within the abdomen, and this puts strain on the muscles in the groin area."

Granted, a lot has changed in the last 8 years.

I remember my doc telling me how it was outpatient and I'd feel great in a few days.

Is this the newer "European" version of hernia surgery that gets you up and moving faster than the way most US doctors perform the surgery?

Actually, it can be hereditary. My dad and brother had them. And we all have calves the size of a rotisserie chicken.

I had one a little over 2 years ago, on my left side. I felt absolutely no pain when I woke up from the surgery but boy did the pain set in soon after I got home. Thank god for the pain meds. It hurt like a bitch and I couldn't stand up straight for a few days.

Of course it was nice to get paid short term disability and be off from work for a month.

Had one when I was like 5 or 6 yrs old. Just remember having to lay on the couch hurting like hell, and all sorts of family members coming over and my uncle giving me a baseball bat.
