I assumed he was starting as soon as I heard he was practicing.
Isn't today the day the injury reports are due? |

Whether Cassel starts is less important than whether he finishes. If he's moving okay in practice, and looks good, stick a brace on him and put him out there... but make sure Thigpen practices his "run for your life!" moves this week as well, just in case you want to pull Cassel out. If I were Haley, I'd have him on a short leash, like an MLB pitcher. (You know, how if a pitcher moves one facial muscle after a pitch, the manager and trainers come pouring out of the dugout as if the guy dropped to the mound and convulsed.) Cassel's gotta be healthy this season for two reasons: 1) IMO he gives the Chiefs the best chance to win, and 2) the Chiefs want to know ASAP what they've got with him. If he lands on the injury list as "Doubtful" for the next six weeks, that would suck balls.
