Lesnar turtled up and Carwin reigned down blows for 2 minutes while all Brock did was hold his hands over his face. Every other time I've seen that, the fight was called.
Not for a title bout man. You let them fight till the last bell rings unless someone is near death.

If this were ANY fight other than a title bout, you are right, the fight gets stopped. For a title fight... you can't stop that. Not unless Lesnar was in serious danger.

You argue that Lesnar did not intelligently defend himself. If that was the case, how did he manage to kick Carwin off him not once but twice during that bashing? Lesnar on more than one occasion grabbed at Carwin's head to bring him down, he kept his hips moving, and did enough to convince the ref that he was in control.

You are either trolling hard or you have a serious case of sour grapes.

By chance, are you related to this guy?

His last 3 fights are stoppages of Coulture, Mir, and Carwin. That can't be a fluke.

agreed. that said it was not called and you are the only one making a big deal about it.

He got the take down and sub because Carwin punched himself out. Not because Brock did anything special. Notice the difference.
so you are not mad that the fight wasn't called... it's that you feel that Lesnar didn't do anything magical to solidify himself as the Heavyweight champion in your opinion.

something that we should all appreciate as football fans is someone who does not have a glass jaw. this guy took a beating and despite that beating, he had it in him to choke out his opponent.

that is good enough for me.

/still hate him

The rules don't change for a title fight dumbass.

You just said it, then you go on to make yourself look like a dumbass. "Yes in every other fight that gets stopped."

Well duh no ****ing shit sherlock. When a guy covers up and doesn't defend himself outside of covering his face and gets earholed 7 times, that's the ****ing definition of not intelligently defending yourself. Again, if the fight had been stopped everyone would have said it was a fair stoppage. The only people who don't think so are either Lesnar nut huggers or guys who don't know shit about MMA fighting. This thread is pretty much proving that point.

Alright friend. I disagree with your opinion.

In a title fight there has always been that "let them play" mentality. Hell, in any championship game in the history of sport, there has been that mentality. I'm telling you right now that while I would not have disagreed with the fight being called, I was glad it was not.

I did not want a stoppage, I wanted to see a clear victor. I'll grant you that I don't have 20 years of martial arts training and through I've been in a few fights, the only formal training I ever received was in the Army. That said, I thought Lesnar did enough to not have the fight stopped.

But again, I am just a lowly weevil on the mountain that is your knowledge on the sport.

Because people tend to swell when they get hit in the face more than a few times? I'm pretty sure they bleed sometimes too.

If you are intelligently defending yourself you're generally not getting hit over and over again. Which Brock was. People have already noted in this thread that in every other fight that would have been stopped. Then dumbasses say he was defending himself because they don't know a god damned thing about MMA. Why? Because they only recently started watching. It'd be like debating some idiot who says that Larry Fitzgerald is better than Jerry Rice when the guy never saw Rice play. That's what it's like talking about MMA with dumb ****s, like yourself, on here.

Ok, so its about credentials? What if I had watched every single UFC, multiple seasons of TUF, and many more martial arts competitions outside of the US? Oh yeah, and all 4 Karate Kid movies.

Would my opinion hold more weight with you then?

Not any other fighter, but champions will have a little more leash then any other fighter and they SHOULD get that respect. It happens in Boxing and it happens in MMA.

Brock covered up for the flurries, once they were slowed down, he kept busy showing the ref that he wasnt out.

Its that simple. The ref did the RIGHT THING.

Dear Guardian,

Eat my shit, then watch as I pile-drive your mom in the ass.

I'm hammered......

Brock got beat the **** down and prob was surprised if more than anything the first rd.

At least now he KNOWS he's not invincible, which is a good thing. He will learn from this. Everyone knew Carwin had a better stand up game. But everyone also knew that once it got to the ground w/ Brock on top......Carwin was screwed.

Once Brock put the triangle choke hold on him, the camera actually had a great shot of Carwin's face and his eyes bugged out of his head and you saw the "oh shit" look.

I suspect there will be a re-match of this coming soon within the next year if Lesnar should beat his next opponent. Velasquez has the next shot.

Maybe after that, Fedor will finally sign w/ UFC if he has the balls. Now that he lost to a UFC reject, maybe he will have something to prove who knows.....Dana trashed him this past week saying that the media over-hyped him. Dana is reeruned. Fedor is a great fighter, he just got caught that's all.....it happens in this sport. Fedor is still a top HW fighter, he just needs to fight the cream of the crop. Dana did make a good point that he hasn't fought anyone worthy in the past few years....that may be true....but the guy is still a great fighter....

But like I always have said....once Lesnar gets it to the ground it's pretty much all over for his opponent.
