If this were ANY fight other than a title bout, you are right, the fight gets stopped. For a title fight... you can't stop that. Not unless Lesnar was in serious danger.

You argue that Lesnar did not intelligently defend himself. If that was the case, how did he manage to kick Carwin off him not once but twice during that bashing? Lesnar on more than one occasion grabbed at Carwin's head to bring him down, he kept his hips moving, and did enough to convince the ref that he was in control.

Well duh no ****ing shit sherlock. When a guy covers up and doesn't defend himself outside of covering his face and gets earholed 7 times, that's the ****ing definition of not intelligently defending yourself. Again, if the fight had been stopped everyone would have said it was a fair stoppage. The only people who don't think so are either Lesnar nut huggers or guys who don't know shit about MMA fighting.
