Question for people who wear contact lenses

What are the most comfortable lenses you've worn? Are there any particular type that are made for sleeping in? I love to watch tv as I fall asleep, but I have to take my lenses out before I go to bed, and I can't see crap.

PureVision 2 HD. I used to be an Acuvue Oasys guy, but could never leave them in past midnight or so and somedays started to get really dry eyes. I mentioned this to my doc last time I was in and she recommended the PureVision 2's. This was a great change, I had no idea how much more comfortable a contact could be.

Acuvue wasn't bad and I wore them for years, but if you get the chance, I'd ask the Doc if you can get a trial pair of each.

I use Accuve Daily.
Take them out and throw them away. No solution, no worries.

PureVision is money. So is CIBA's Night&Day (which is what I currently wear). You can keep them in constantly for 30 days straight. I'll take them out and clean them sometimes, but I sleep in them 99% of the time. Just put some rewetting eyedrops in before you go to bed and when you wake up.

They're both so soft and so thin, you don't even know they're in.

I have always struggled with contact lenses. I tried Acuvue. I tried Surevue.

O2 Optix.

Most comfortable lenses I have EVER used. Overnight or regular use.

I think that slowly damages the little blood vessels carrying oxygen to your eyes, bro.

Lasik was the best purchase I've ever made. If you can't afford, most of them offer 1-2 year interest free plans. Trust me, if you can swing this, you won't regret it. The only thing I wish about it is that I did it when I was 21 rather than 25. I've had it 3+ years now and still have 20/10 vision

The most comfortable lenses that I've ever used are the CooperVision Biofinity lenses. I switched from the Acuvue Oasys, and I would never go back. Aside from being better made, they remain comfortable during extended wear (I typically wear mine for 14 hours a day).

No, I wouldn't sleep in these, but they are a great option for a once-a-month lens.

Don't they have contact lenses that you can leave in for 30 days...they are even marketed as such. That is why I couldn't do contact lenses. I tried and tried and tried. I really don't wear my glasses unless I'm watching TV or at a sporting event and need to see something far away. It would be nice to wear them, but I despised dicking with them every night and morning. What is the point of contact lenses if you have to take them out and put them in everyday?

What are the names of the ones you can leave in for 30 days and where can I get them?

B&L focus night and day continuous lenses are what you are looking for. I have used these for over 5 years and leave them in for months at a time. My prescription has not changed one bit. It will take a little getting used to but just add some drops at night or in the morning and you'll be good to go. These lenses are the only reason I haven't thrown down the cash for lasik, they make life so much easier.

Your Dr will tell you they could be harmful which is just bullshit so you have to buy hundreds of other contacts lenses, no way would B&L put out a product this long if it was in any way harmful, the lawsuits from 100 people would probably kill their company.

Enjoy...

I tried acuvue oasys (or whatever gay spelling they use), and didn’t like them. So I went back to acuvue advance. Still a little dryer than I remember, but that’s probably because I wear them for 3-5 months before changing them (they really expect me to go through a couple hundred dollars worth of contacts every few months?). I do take them out every night, even though I think they are okay for overnight.

My roommate in college wore his until they became uncomfortable and fell out, usually several months, without taking them out at night. One day he woke up and his eyes were swollen shut and hurt like hell. He had to get the eye doctor to take them out, had a bad infection, and couldn’t wear contacts for 6 months.
