What are your top 3 possible Free agents you'd like to see the Chiefs sign?

I'm bored and got football fever. Since it's pretty likely free agency will begin in a few weeks go on record and list your top 3 guys you'd like to see the Chiefs sign.

1. Steve Smith (NYG)
2. Micheal Bush
3. Aubrayo Franklin

I would.

Don't get me wrong, I would be happy as a fat boy with a whole chocolate cake if we locked up both corners long term...but I don't think an NFL team can ever afford to pass on profit of talent and picks.

Really though, it's a moot point because NA will be a Buc as soon as a cba is done.
No, I wouldn't.

As you say, Aso is Carr's ceiling, and even should he not reach that ceiling, he's still pretty damn good and getting better, and he's younger and will still be more cost effective.

And, as I said, while the Chiefs have a lot of money to spend, I'd rather spend it on more positions to improve the overall talent and depth of this team than on one position that limits the ability to get quality players elsewhere for this roster.

The only position that I could support overpaying for is QB, and that QB has to be a franchise, top 5-7 guy.

Yes.

The hypothetical thought process here is would you sign Asamouhga if we were able to trade Carr for a minimum of a second round pick?

So, essentially it would be trading Carr for Nhamdi AND a second round pick.

I think some here misunderstood the question for some reason.

I think you know where I'm going with this. Yes, yes, WAY more talent than Cassel that's a given. BUT, a system is a system and it's been custom-tailored for him as the seasons have gone by. My bet is that though he would hardly fall flat, I doubt he would make the transition to another team well enough to even achieve a Championship game much less another Super Bowl.

That's a hell of a deal, but I'm a big proponent of team chemistry and it seems to me that Flowers and Carr have the mojo.

And it's only beginning to rise...

I think Lance Moore from the Saints is a FA. He'd be an ideal pick up for our slot reciever.

I don't think it's misunderstood. I just question why we'd trade a young, terrific corner like Carr for an elite corner like Asomugha who would cost twice as much and is the wrong side of 30. How many productive years do you expect to get out of Asomugha? And given that he's probably set to decline, whereas Carr still has upside, how long before the two start playing at the same level? My guess is in about 1-2 years.

This is a move you make if you're convinced you have 2-3 years to win a Super Bowl.

What's homeristic about it? We're talking about trading away a young corner with maybe 7-10 years in him for an expensive corner who maybe has 2-3 productive years left in him.

Keep the young guy for cheaper. Use those savings to pick up a different free agent, at a position where we actually need help.

I thought Boss was talking about from a pure talent level. Still Namdi has great years left in him that trade would be a steal.

No, it's not.

It's improving the current roster while adding a ****ing second round pick to help bolster the teams future.

I'm not talking about a straight up player for player trade here.

how about what we could get for the draft pick?

A second rounder is a premium pick.

A move such as this improves the present and future of this team.

Also, he just turned 30 on the 6th...to say he only has 2 more years in him is a big stretch.

More likely, he has 4 years left.
