Hell, Jim Harbaugh, still ran the ball more than he threw with Kaepernick. And I keep hearing people say, if Alex is asked to throw more, hes going to fail. It depends on the throws. If he is still making the short throws that lead to Bowe, or Avery or a tight end, getting a first down, or making their own yards, why would he fail? He has proven to be very VERY good at that. You don't have the personnel to chuck it up all the time. he doesn't have Desean Jackson, and Jeremy Maclin to throw to.
That's why I have said over and over, I have no idea how this is going to pan out, but using anything from San Francisco, as a barometer of how he is going to do here, is stupid, and uninformed hypothetical boring bullshit.

No its facts. Thinking it will be any different would be hypothetical dude.
Facts are facts and by almost any measure Alex Smith is on par with Cassel in terms of production. He averages less than 200 yards a game.
He's been in the league eight years, make all the excuses you want but he's been middle of the pack.
