All I got for Christmas was...
...a torn pectoral muscle
I was benching on Christmas eve. I was just doing normal sets with nothing heavy. On the 3rd rep of my 4th set, I just felt / heard a loud pop and a really weird numb tingle. I went to the ER on the advice of the EMTs onsite. The ER just took some X rays to confirm that it wasn't broken or dislocated and they sent me on my way. I have a feeling it is a complete detachment of my pectoralis minor. As you can see, there is a hole now where muscle used to be. The really weird thing is that it doesn't hurt and I have pretty much full functionality. It just feels "fat"...I guess it's from the swelling and the dangling muscle. I REALLY hope I don't need surgery for this. I have a 4 week old at home and I have to take care of him. Anyway, I guess the moral of the story is that your muscles can just detach and explode for no real reason. Also, Alex Smith sucks. So does Eric Fisher. |
