If they were rebuilding, they never would have signed Lew Bush to a 17.5 million dollar contract so he can make 1 or 2 tackles per game. If they were rebuilding they would not be sitting at 41 million dollars over the cap next year, they would be slicing as much off of that figure as they could right now.
If they were rebuilding, they would start Morris, Lockett, Bartee, Dennis, Maslowski, Collins, Stills, Martin & Ransom to get them experience. However, they would then be picking much, much higher in the draft and FINALLY be able to take a legit QBOTF, either Vick or Brees, preferrably Vick. They would have higher picks in every round, and additional draft picks by the trading of the aforementioned players. They would be well on their way to gaining their own “Big 3” [Vick and Morris]. The next year they could concentrate their efforts in obtaining a superstar HB. A year or two after that, they would be well under the cap and they could sign some free-agents to complement the young stars and they would be contenders again. Contin... |
