A giant rumor cloud has been hanging over Kansas City for the past month that Chiefs President/GM Carl Peterson would attempt to lure former St. Louis Rams head coach Dick Vermeil out of retirement. Vermeil attended a couple of games at the end of the season, which solidified a link between the two and fueled some interesting stories. NFLScoop.com has learned that a meeting between Peterson and Vermeil will take place, but it's not about Vermeil becoming the head coach.
