Play Action Pass.
I have the game taped, but have not had a chance to re-watch it yet. Our receivers, including Gonzo, had a heck of a time getting any seperation last night, with the exception Kennison on the early bomb.
I do know that the bomb to Kennison was play action, as Green faked a dive to the left to Holmes. And maybe I just can't remember that well, but I don't seem to recall that much play action being involved in our passing attack. It seemed as if Green pulled away from center in a three, five, or seven step dropback on nearly every other pass play. If that is the case, and our receivers can't get any seperation under that scenario, maybe the play action should become a staple of the offense to help the receivers get open. With Holmes as the RB, the play action would have to be honored nearly every time. Just a thought. |
