Curl is assistant to the head coach/quarterbacks coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. He grew up in Chester, played quarterback on scholarship at the University of Richmond and soon after began a coaching career still going strong at age 67. Curl was head coach of the 1998 World Bowl runnerup Frankfurt Galaxy. His defensive coordinator was Spagnuolo. Even back then Curl watched Spagnuolo bounce back when things weren’t going great, helping convince him to hang in long enough to reap the fruits of his labor. “He was just a tremendous guy to work with and work for,” Spagnuolo said. “We ended up winning some games and going to the World Bowl, so that was fun, too. He’s a tremendous friend, a very close friend and I really love him and his wife Bev. He’s been very instrumental in my career.” |
