Jamaal Charles now up to 6.4 YPC
He brought his average up from 6.1 to 6.4 with today's performance, which is at the moment the highest average in NFL history for a season with more than 120 carries (as far as I can tell).
He has 203 carries for 1,303 yards (wow!), averaging 6.41 ypc. Jim Brown's best season in 1963, which was the single-season rushing record for a decade, involved 291 carries for 1,863 yards, averaging 6.40 ypc. (Recall that this was a 14-game season.) Beattie Feathers averaged more than 8 yards per carry as a rookie in 1934, but there's some debate about how many yards he actually had, and he had fewer than 120 carries. So...three cheers for Jamaal Charles! Hip hip....hooray! Hip hip....hooray! Hip hip....hooray! Last edited by Rain Man; 12-19-2010 at 04:51 PM.. |
