Was Routh getting proper treatment for his illness? Did a doctor or other medical professional suggest that someone suffering from PTSD be taken to a driving range? Was part of Routh's illness is that he seemed unable to turn off being at war making him a danger to himself and/or others?

We night not ever know the answers but I think the situation is sufficiently odd to warrant asking the questions.

I am sure they took him to the gun range just to have some fun and probably didn't put a lot of thought into it.
