There's not another BCS poll per se after the bowls but I think most of the various computer polls they use as part of the aggregate formula do put out final polls after the bowls.
The argument doesn't hold water. Taking the poll PB linked, http://www.cfrc.com/Ratings_2007/WK_15.htm Hawaii was one spot ahead of GA. And then they played and GA won by 4+ td's. These computer polls are valuable tools and should be considered when evaluating all these teams but you run into trouble when you rely on them solely as they aren't infallible.

Of course computers are not infallible. Nobody said they were. Nobody would argue Mizzou was better than OU when they lost both times to them regardless of what the polls or computers say. |

I'm also to believe VaTech is the 4th best team in the country according to that jibberish previously linked? More like top 15. KU exposed them for what they were which typically happens to that league that time of year.

If I were them I'd look at Tom Jurich. You get your football (in particular) and to a lesser extent men's hoops hires right and the rest of the rigors of that job take care of itself. It does look like he may have hired a pretty good baseball coach. Perhaps he'll do well there he's highly intelligent but Jurich made several successful football hires botching only Kragthorpe and of course got Pitino which was a no brainer. I do get the Luck angle as that AD in particular requires skills he has in his background that others don't but the bottom line at Texas is if you hire a football coach that wins 10+ games most years and beats OU at least half the time and wins their share of championships he ain't getting fired and no matter how things are spun otherwise that right there tells you what's most important to them.

He's my dream replacement for Alden.
Unfortunately we're stuck w/ Mr. Spray-on Tan w/ his contrived MissouRAH drivel for the foreseeable future.

Yep, the SEC is still way better than the Big 12. Carry on. |

It's actually becoming uncomfortable watching PB simultaneously trying to scratch and claw for Kansas validation while de-valuing Mizzou. It's so embarrassing that even Wickedbambi is backing off.
2007, lol. Lew Perkins threw one hell of a hookers and blow party for the selection committee while buying up an absurd number of seats to the Orange Bowl, and somehow that makes their season better than Mizzou's, who they lost to head to head. Whatever works, I guess. I actually remember seeing an interview with one of the Orange Bowl selection committee people back then. He was visibly uncomfortable when he was asked why they chose Kansas over Missouri. I wish I knew the name of the guy or the interviewer so I could find it. It was pure gold watching him squirm when asked why they selected a team that didn't even win their conference to play in their BCS game, and if he thought that action would devalue the Orange Bowl. |
