They're going to have to rework this setup. Playing Forza at the store and just doing some free racing to try out some of the different classes of cars and various track locations, and the load times were pretty slow. It's possible that I was just the 1st person who picked these options and the load time is faster after the 1st time? But even just loading a new race to the time they give the 3, 2, 1 start countdown was at least 3+ minutes. There's no built in storage expansion even though they both have a 500 gig hd, the game sizes are going to quickly get very big as they incorporate higher and higher resolution graphics. There's already instructions on how to replace the hard drive with a 2 terabyte one because space is already a perceived issue. For example, NBA2K14 takes up 41.5 gigs on the ps4 and a little over 43 on the one, and actual available storage space available for use is 408 gigs on the PS4 and about 430 on the One. Right now, the average install is right around 20-22 gigs, but as the game titles start rolling out that aren't simply being ported over, it's going to be more the norm that they will be closer to 40-50 gigs and higher. People are going to be pissed if you are facing a situation where you can have 15 - 20 games readily loaded to play, and if you want to play another title have to delete a game or 2 install and then wait an hour or more just to get up and running constantly! Just another reason why I see this as a half measure and even if they say the system will be looking at an 8 to 10 year product cycle, I bet within 5 years they're going to have a refresh "2.0" version that won't be marketed as the next generation console but will have a bunch of internal updates like: Storage capacity Processor speed / efficiency Graphics handler Wireless standard (I.e. A/C & beyond) Video and Audio output and standard (hdmi version xx.xx?, DD+ 7.1 or whatever else are the newest s.sound audio standards) Plus they can keep a premium price and offer the original version at a discount price - even though for example if you bought the 360 with just the tiny 4.5 gig you were certainly just putting off needed to buy the additional storage to be really get full use out of the system.

Anyone having an issue with the XB1 headset & party chat? I can hear my buddy but he can't hear me. There's a green circle next to us that lights up when we talk, so I know the mic is working. Seems that I can only talk through the Kinect right now.
On a side note, picked it up on midnight release. Played forza, killer instinct, Ryse, battlefield 4 and black flag. All really good so far, suprisingly i've played Ryse the most and just finished campaign. Started playing online coop gladiator mode and its pretty fun. |

I'm having alot more fun with Dead Rising 3 then I thought I would. It has a common story that is nothing special, the characters aren't all that interesting and I eventually get bored killing zombies and switch to something else but I keep coming back cause it's so much damn fun.
The open world is big enough and varied to make it engaging. The weapon variety forces you to switch it up but I don't have any favorites to speak of seeing as I can destroy with almost everything. There are some combinations that don't serve a purpose outside of just making it goofy. A foam finger combined with a pogo stick gives you this poking weapon that does very little damage. On the other hand you can combine a leaf blower with a dildo and get a launcher weapon that takes down many enemies in one hit. You can make ultra versions of previous combinations to make something that can truly destroy all. My favorite is an elemental staff where you strap a battery to a traffic light pole to a propane tank to a freezing tank you get a weapon that destroys a street filled with zombies. Also if you find a speaker and a traffic cone you can create a screambox that is an amazing quick makeshift weapon that takes down tons of stuff in your way. You can eventually strap a radio or battery, i forget which one, to make it electric as well. Also just waltzing around the city you'll find challenges that net you big points if you can complete the challenge in the alotted time. The challenges aren't terribly hard but they require you to have the right equipment for the job. One challenge will say kill X number of zombies with combo vehicles only. Another will have you killing so many zombies with combo weapons, or just your bare fists. It adds a nice variety in there from just mowing through zombies. I have yet to die, of course I put all my points into life first but this game isn't difficult at all. If you get overwhelmed you can just run away slowly through the zombies or jump on a car to catch your breath. I'm sure the nightmare mode is hard but I haven't gotten through the initial campaign yet. I spent much of my time just wondering around the city and destroying zombies, finding new patterns and combinations, and just taking in the environment. There are platforming sections that require you to find the jumping up point to get on a roof, or maneuvering a vehicle under a place so you can climb onto it in order to get to higher ground where alot of things are hidden. If you can't find it in the building, it's on the roof. You get Prestige Points from killing zombies in different ways and killing a mass of them over and over again nets you higher amounts of points per kill if you reach a certain amount like after 100 zombies are killed in a row the amount per increases by a good amount. So if you have an inventory filled with something that mows them down you can just find a packed street and obliterate it all by yourself and get a good chunk of a level or levels. I hear the level cap is 50 and I'm at 34 right now and I've only faced 4 bosses and completed side quests I find along the way. Also every 10 levels nets you multiple achievement points in order to upgrade faster. So if from levels 1-20 you get 1 achievement token per level, then 20-30 you get 2 per level and so far through 30-34 I've gotten 3 per level, so it's not like an MMO where your grind slows down considerably, it slows down but balances itself with giving you more talent points. If you take the completionist mentality into your game you'll get alot more out of it, like with most games. Definitely worth the price of admission and I haven't even done co-op with my buddy yet. Makes me want to go back and play the first two on the 360. Last edited by Gravedigger; 11-25-2013 at 07:12 PM.. |

Whelp, didn't take long for people to start using the PS4 live stream for more mature "adult" entertainment.
http://www.gamerevolution.com/news/m...mpletely-22779 Nearly overnight, the PS4's easy linking with Twitch has made a few people stars of the internet. One married couple started up "The Spartan Show" and held a raffle for their PS3, and got so much attention that Sony's own Adam Boyes called in. Less successful and generally less awesome is Samurai400, pictured above, who did a variety of uninteresting... um... God knows what, for several hours. And then there's Darckobra. He and his wife sat on a couch drinking, and drinking, and drinking. Eventually, the wife passed out. So the man did what any man deserving of divorce papers would do: he showed the internet some breast — and not his own. Yes, live on Twitch TV, via The Playroom on PS4, a man lifted up his unconscious wife's shirt and exposed her breast. After 15 or 16 post-boob minutes, the channel went dark briefly; upon its return, the wife was completely naked, presumably stripped by the husband. Twitch eventually banned Darckobra, but not before he — potentially — changed the whole landscape of this streaming situation. If things like this continue, and especially if they continue to be lumped in association with Sony, you better believe that features will be re-examined, modified, and possibly even removed. No company wants to be associated with this kind of thing, and measures will be taken to add distance. Don't expect any changes overnight, but you can bet that people in suits will very soon be sitting in meetings talking about how to handle things like this going forward. This is why we can't have nice things.

Question for you all:
I have a HTPC connected to our main TV (52" LCD). I'll play emulations w/ a wired X-Box controller, but if I wanted to play an FPS or RTS game on such a setup, what type of wireless K&M would you recommend?
