I think this is exactly right. He knew the conversation today was going to be about how they haven't wont he Super Bowl in ten years, how Brady played poorly, and perhaps how his team has become so talent-depleted at skill positions. So, like any good PR man, he changed the conversation.

Heat? Belichick is facing heat for taking that crippled bunch to the AFCCG and losing to the highest powered offense in NFL history? Link?

Congrats. Despite several million words have been written about him over the years, I think you're the first in history to refer to Belichick as a "good PR man".

Again, and when it happens before the ball arrives it becomes an ILLEGAL block. If you make a habit of watching Denver play, that might explain your own confusion .

Right. Because blocking is cheap. You know, now that I think about it, a lot of people were blocking in both championship games. There should have been like fifty billion flags thrown.

Every team in the NFL runs pick plays. New England does it, Seattle and San Fran too. To whine about the Broncos doing it reeks of sour grapes.

The NFL is a copycat league. If one team does it successfully, every other team will follow suit. If the NFL doesn't like it, they should outlaw it.

Happening before the ball arrives makes it illegal, but it doesn't make it cheap. But the replay indicates the block was very nearly simultaneous with the ball.

True. For example, I watched Kansas City do it to the Colts in the fourth quarter of that playoff loss. I think it was a pass to McCluster? It was so obvious that one of the announcers was saying that the intended receiver was the only target for that play.

That was Jenkins, and it was obvious.

OK, my mistake. For some reason I remember seeing McCluster's face on TV right about the same time and I must have mushed them together in my head.
