An elite pass rusher in this scheme comes in the form of the OLB.

If you feel that Houston and Hali aren't that, then you want to upgrade their position. But it isn't going to come from the five tech in the 34 base of this particular scheme. It isn't supposed to and it won't.

Besides, how many Bruce Smith's/JJ Watt's have their been over the course of the last 30 years?

Probably as many as there have been John Elway's/Andrew Luck's.

Also keep in mind that if you draft a defensive lineman, you're trusting that Bob Sutton will use him correctly.

I'd rather go offense and trust that Andy Reid will use them correctly.

While I agree with these guys that DL is important, you get difference makers like Poe long before the #23 pick.

This isn't a 2-14 team anymore. The window is NOW. You need guys that can come in and contribute right away for a playoff-caliber team.

Geno Atkins was a later pick and Aaron Donald compares to him.

In terms of dl players where we are drafting, you're probably looking at a guy who can start as a sub rusher and potentially become an every down player.

And Geno Atkins wouldn't really be Geno Atkins in the 3-4.

Th best teams take great players and find ways to fit them in their units. I don't wanna pigeonhole ourselves into certain players because of fit.

What a waste when you can get a guy like Amaro that could potentially be Smith's #1 option from the minute he steps on the field?

There's a reason this team hasn't won a playoff game in 2 decades but by all means, let's avoid drafting playmakers as much as possible...
