How to improve this team (aka if Clark had any balls):
Fire Andy and the rest of the clowns give Harbaugh a blank check trade Charles for a first round pick and possibly more Trade up and draft a real QB (Winston) draft best WR available with second pick in the draft sign Jeremy Maclin sign Adrian Peterson |

Hali is on the decline. Cut him to make room for Houston and roll with Ford. Cut Daniel. Need to get Murray some playing time to see what he's got. Who would have thought jeff Allen would have been the most devastating injury

1. Yep.
2. Yup. 3. Yuuuuup. 4. Maybe they'll sign someone cheap. 5. Turnovers are pure luck. 6. Defense was great. 7. Agree. 8. Hope you don't mean drafting a guard in the 1st round... Because that would be a waste akin to Fisher's pick. 9. He'll never live up to his draft selection. 10. The consistency is what's stupid. How was Tamba's tackle on Stanton a roughing call for going low but not the one on Smith?

McGlynn was in for Fulton at RG on the last drive too. Not sure why.

The defense played really well.
Guess who let the team down again?

2. You do not always take the points. If Charles gets a first there and the Chiefs end up scoring a TD, they are driving to tie or win at the end of the game. Don't conflate execution with play-calling. It was a foot.
4. Left guard is not the biggest position of need. This team needs a QB, WR, LT, ILB, and CB more than LG. 9. Ford has .5 more sacks than memes of his incompetence this year. 10. Yeah, the refs have it out for the Chiefs. See: the taunting penalty that gave the Chiefs new life and the spot on the Kelce catch. Shitty refs are not crooked. They just suck, and they ****ed both sides hard today. |

Sure, the odds say you'll get the 4th down in that situation. But the Chiefs' offense has been so terrible this year that you have to know they aren't getting a TD barring a long Jamaal run. Best case scenario on that drive was 3 points.

A few random reactions.
1. Jeff Allen is a second-round pick at LG. Do people think he can fill that hole? 2. One of the football stat sites said that turnovers have a significant degree of randomness to them, and that a team with very few turnovers (or maybe it was a negative turnover ratio) is usually better than it looks and will rebound strong the following year. Anyone got any thoughts on this theory? 3. I mentioned this deep in the bowels of another thread, but I think the game has become too complicated in terms of rules. You can call interference or holding or taunting or hands to the face or touching the quarterback on every single play, so it's completely arbitrary on whether it gets called or not. That's very frustrating for the fans of any team, because we're destined to see calls or non-calls that we disagree with.

I'm not sure who I'd keep right now. Certainly JC needs to be trade bait. He's been used-up a lot by now, and his fumble today reminded us of one of his other issues.
As for LT, I'll agree that it's a big need, but I don't trust Hunt's band of idiots to know which college player is an answer to the problem. So it might be better to get somebody who can deal with the usual 2.1 seconds of "collapsing pocket" style of protection. We need WRs and DBs who are worthy of an NFL start, and we suffer the same issues there as we do with O-line, our team's telent evaluators aren't good at talent evaluation. In fact they're so bad at it that it makes FA's pick better teams as they look at the Chiefs "Since 1969" history and realize that they have a better chance in another city. So, I think if the hunts sell in the off-season, new ownership might fix a lot of the problems this team has. |
