Why does every kids videogame require me to buy action figures every ****ing week? B/c it makes more money. Even Lego is getting in on that action.

The Demo is no where near the same as TMNT or Transformers. Not even close. Kids don't care about about these women, and this isn't a high CGI movie. TMNT and Transformers both retained their original characters. I watched both of those movies...will not watch Ghost Busters. The only people who are going to watch this movie are those that are fans of those actresses, which means this movie is a disaster.

This movie is not appealing to children. It's nowhere near TMNT and Transformers. TMNT is STILL a relevant children's cartoon, so kids were aware of the franchise prior to the movie release. It's high CGI action starring Ninjas and already had a following. Transformers: High CGI kick ass robots doing kick ass robot stuff...and again....was still a relevant name. Ghost busters isn't nearly as relevant. Kids aren't exposed to it. There aren't any Ghost Buster cartoons airing in the morning. The toys haven't been around for god knows how long...It's not high CGI....it's 4 lesbians whom children can't identify with. If this move were to be successful...it needed to appeal to those of us who watched it as children/young adults. Ghost Busters is far too dated and removed from pop culture for today's kids to identify with it and give a shit.

Right. And they missed the mark.
Kid sees a Transformer in the toy store: "Whooa cool. A toy car that transforms into a bad ass ninja robot with guns!" TMNT: "Whooa Cool. A Mutant Ninja turtle with swords and throwing stars!" Ghostbusters: A Fat ass Melissa McCarthy in a sanitation suit? No one thinks that's cool. ************ Again, Ghost busters does NOT have any sort of following or exposure to today's kids. It's not a relevant franchise the way TMNT/Trans/Jurassic Park etc are. It does not have characters that today's kids would care about. My son doesn't even know what a Ghost Buster is. If this movie were to be successful, it needed to appeal to those of us that are familiar with the franchise, because we're the ones with the $$$ and the kids now. They completely missed. It doesn't appeal to today's kids, and it doesn't appeal to the males who watched it in their youth. It might appeal to women, but only because of the actresses. And even then, the subject matter isn't exactly broadly appealing to women. At least Brides Maids had a theme that interests women....

2.) Even if you liked Bridesmaids, this is nothing like it, as it's a reboot of a male-centered cast. 3.) This has nothing to do with hating women, and everything to do with the studios pissing on the history. I don't want to watch a black man playing Johnny Storm. I don't want to watch 4 women playing the Ghostbusters. I don't want to watch a white man playing the Black Panther. I wouldn't want to watch a cross dressing man playing Wonder Woman, either. The time to pull something like having female Ghostbusters was about 20 years ago, when Annie Potts could have gone from being a secretary to being one of the 'guys'. |

BTW, I don't want a male lead in the Alien series, either. That's Sigourney Weaver, or nobody. The seriously common theme to this thread has been you coming in with the SJW bullshit. |

Add in the fact that their strategy was to play homage to the original to attract GenX/Millennials and you have a recipe for success. Jurassic Park is a perfect example of what Ghost Busters should've done.

Jurassic World was a perfect storm of making a family friendly film 4 quadrant film, peoples love of Dinosaurs, fan nostalgia from the 90s and Chris Pratt being a huge draw right now.
