What relevance did Jurassic park have prior to the latest movie? Not sure there were reboot Transformer cartoons prior to the new movies either.

Jurassic Park may not have been as relevant as TMNT or Transformers, but kids love dinosaurs so it's an instant draw. Dinosaurs are always relevant with children, even when the movie has faded out of the spotlight.

Add in the fact that their strategy was to play homage to the original to attract GenX/Millennials and you have a recipe for success.

Jurassic Park is a perfect example of what Ghost Busters should've done.
