I'm not making excuses for anyone. Milkman made a statement as if it were a fact instead of an opinion. If you make a statement of fact you should be able to show the facts to back it up. I mean how does he know it is a fact if he doesn't have the data to back it up?

If you read back in the thread you'll see where I agreed with someone who was critical of Smith. Some of you douchebags don't even pay attention.

You don't need hard data to prove that Alex Smith misses more open receivers than Tom Brady. The proof is in their career production.

Brady's career is built on a defense backing him and he has never never never had a bad ol. The Pat's defense has never allowed more that 21 avg in any of their SB years either.

The Pats have been my 2nd favorite NFL team since Drew Bledsoe.

Outside of a window with Randy Moss, they have had average WR's that Brady has made look great.

Their SB receiving corps during Brady's reign. Hill is better than each one of those WR's. The Chiefs RB's have largely been better than what Brady has had since I've been a Chiefs fan. They have had very good TE's

XXXVI - Patriots 20, Rams 17

TOP RECEIVERS
WR Troy Brown
WR David Patten
RB Kevin Faulk
FB Marc Edwards
RB Antowain Smith

XXXVIII - Patriots 32, Panthers 29

TOP RECEIVERS
WR Deion Branch
RB Kevin Faulk
WR Troy Brown
TE Daniel Graham
WR David Givens

XXXIX - Patriots 24, Eagles 21

TOP RECEIVERS
WR David Givens
WR David Patten
WR Deion Branch
TE Daniel Graham
FB Patrick Pass

XLIX - Patriots 28, Seahawks 24

TOP RECEIVERS
WR Julian Edelman
TE Rob Gronkowski
WR Brandon LaFell
RB Shane Vereen
WR Danny Amendola

XLI - Patriots vs. Falcons, Sunday

TOP RECEIVERS
WR Julian Edelman
RB James White
TE Martellus Bennett
WR Chris Hogan
WR Malcolm Mitchell

Sorry, but let me be blunt...

Was this meant to be serious? The ol gave up like 50 sacks when cassel was qb. Brady doesn't get sacked because he has extraordinary ability to slide in the pocket and because he has the quickest release in the league. Same ol, different, different results.

And Jfc, the pats defense has been average since mid 2000s. Often times borderine terrible. And while you mention it, he almost won a conference championship with a shite defense and with reche caldwell and Jabar Gaffney as his top receivers. So the argument that he's thrived off a supporting cast is totally off.
.
Not even sure where the facts are coming from.

Coming from the guy that loves to post stats.

You actually do need hard data to prove it. You and Milkman are assuming, not proving.

No, you don't. Ever heard of occam's razor?

What you also apparently don't understand is that no one gives a shit about defending Alex Smith anymore.

We don't have to prove anything. Everyone knows what he is.

As I pointed out to you earlier I am not defending Alex Smith. I am just expecting people to stop pulling shit out of their asses without data to back it up. WTF is wrong with you, are you reading impaired?

Yes you are. You are a Smith homer. You rush to his defense every time in these debates.

You're so committed to the hopeless fantasy that he's a championship QB that you:

1. Don't care about the obvious evidence that his penchant for missing open receivers is a problem.

2. Invent another fantasy, where Tom Brady or other elite QBs miss open receivers at a similar rate.

You really, really, really like this shitty QB, and you want him to be good sooooo bad that you just invent flights of fancy so you can maintain your cognitive dissonance that the Chiefs can win a Super Bowl with him at QB.
