Seems like it’s just a guy speculating without any basis in fact.

And it was announced when it was to be able to logistically handle an event of that magnitude in a proper way. Doesn’t remotely strike me as crazy that the NFL wanted to put its best foot forward rather than throw something like this together on a Monday-to-Sunday timeline.
