Just imagine if they hadn't forgotten how to tackle against the Giants or if the Refs hadn't ****ed them over every way imaginable against Dallas. They might have given up closer to 14 pts a game in the 2nd half...

They played well. Except when it mattered most. Dallas and NYG...

Thats sums up the Dick Vermeil KC era in a nutshell. I just knew. I knew deep down that they would come out like worldbeaters these last two games of the season. Too little, too late.......Frustrating....

The defense did NOT improve in the last half of the season.
Stats, schmats. Watch the fuggin games and you'd see that they weren't better. They put up some good games at home, like they always do. But this defense lost the NY and Dallas games all by themselves. |

Dallas game 10-14 point swing at half time 1:42 ball on the 9. Passes ???? WTF. LJ runs for TD at least FG. They dont score before half. We win that game.

Bullshit.
They had 2 entire road games to make a 2nd half stop for a playoff spot and couldn't get it done. When they looked good more often then not it was due to poor offense not good defense. Every good home defensive effort was helped by drop balls, fumbled snaps, etc. Until the ahtleticism of the secondary is imporved and the defensive line is gutted out and shitcanned this pass defense will be in the lower 1/4 of the NFL.

But the offense stunk it up in Buffalo against a far more inferior team. Not to mention the Giants game..... at worst, that game should have been a real shoot out.... Don't lay all of the blame on the defense this year..... The games that Roaf missed the offense stunk with very few exceptions. Need O-line depth, I do think that we did get some of that.... But did we get enough, I am not sure.

It certainly improved, and we faced some top offenses in the 2nd half. Anyone who thinks it got worse or made no improvement is a ****ing idiot.
I don't recall the defense making any big stand in the Philly game. Because, you know, one or two stated games is EVERYTHING. |

i think the kind of offenses we played in the 2nd half on the road has something to do with the improved numbers.
1st half - avg 12th @Oakland - 21st @Denver - 5th @Miami - 14th @San Diego - 10th 2nd half - avg 19th @Buffalo -28th @Houston - 30th @Dallas - 13th @N.Y. Giants - 4th pretty clear to me that we faced more difficult offenses on the road in the 1st half. our defense is better at home though ... the whole team is crazy better at home.
