yeah we will it'll move us back a bit in the second round but it'll be a good compensation swap for Matt Cassel.

I think they try, but don't know if they'll get any takers...

seems like the prudent move.
we'd probably get two more immediate starters out of it that way. quite a haul for what was originally just a 1st and 2nd round pick. |

One 2nd rounder is a very cheap price to ask for trading down even a few slots from where we are at #3. It wouldn't bother me to drop ~10 slots for a 2nd, but realistically that's cheap as hell....Most likely you're looking at a couple of 2nds and a 3 or a 1st and 2nd.

There is already a thread discussing what to do with the #3 pick.
A trade down is the obvious hope, but not sure how much desire there will be for that pick. |

What if Stafford is still on the board? That'd be trade bait. PhilFree

Maybe but if it's any indication of his thinking Pioli said explicitly that we would be taking a player at #3 "that we really like" or something of the sort.
He chose his words in a way that left no room for trading the pick. |

My guess is that Detroit will take Stafford and Pioli probably knows that. My guess is we take Curry at the #3 spot unless we found a trade down partner. The problem is, for any team to move to the #3 pick has to give up to much in the long run. I would assume the teams that would want to trade up would want Stafford, but again he isn't likely to be there at #3 anyways.

move back to 10ish, pick up a second.
then we've essentially gotten Cassel and Vrabel for free. and there is value on the board at that spot. not so much at #3 |
