Vrabel Good influence or not?

Mike Vrabel explained away his absence from all Chiefs voluntary workouts by saying he was "just trying to exercise my rights within the (CBA)" and that the practices were not mandatory for players.

Still, both parties would've been much better off had Vrabel attended. He's supposed to be the leader of new coordinator Clancy Pendergast's hybrid defense and is out of Bill Belichick's system for the first time this decade.

Please don't take any offense, because none is intended. I know this doesn't fit in this thread, but I'm having a difficult time searching your threads about Chiefs football. I tried to start a new thread but it said I didn't have that privilege. Who knows? Anyway, my question is; do you have a forum that is nothing but about Chiefs football? We have, on the carolinahuddle website a forum where we talk only about Panther football. We have a lounge for general topic discussions and then a forum for babes, etc. It appears that your forum is all mixed together in the lounge. Could someone direct me if I'm not reading this website correctly. Thanks.

You people wanna' talk about "getting paid" and "collecting a check"? Meet Mike Vrabel.
As it stands today, LJ has more clout than this mother****er IMO.
He skipped an OPTIONAL workout. He has always skipped them because, rightfully so, he thinks it's bullshit that teams are making optional workouts mandatory. The fact that he's skipped in the past and is still a leader in Pioli's eyes tells you that Pioli could care less. And the fact that he showed up in great shape suggests that he's not skipping because he's lazy. His teammates know he wasn't skipping in rebellion against the Chiefs. They don't care. Why should we?

Again, you are all getting mad at him for being the kind of leader he isn't. Not all leaders are mentors. Some are leaders by example by their tough attitude and the way they play in practice and in games. That's what Vrabel is. Just like Jerry Rice was. YOu're all making an issue out of a non-issue.

No, there isn't a dedicated forum for Chiefs football here.

We are a mixed up group.

ThPantherFan,

Try this. Click on "Search" then "Advanced Search"
Under "Search Options" click on "Local Teams: Chiefs"
Now click the "Search Now" button.

That will narrow down the threads considerably.

He wasn't due a ton of cash, so I think they would've kept him for the last season, but he would've been a disgruntled presence. Not to mention there's a rumor that Kraft really canned him because of his player-rep position, and because Vrabel was yapping about wanting the players to get a cut of the profits from Patriot Place (the shopping center Kraft has built around Gillette Stadium).

Given his age, I can't see the Chiefs re-signing Vrabel, unless the team does well this year, he turns out to love it there, and he's willing to take a pretty cheap contract to end his career.
