What makes you a Matt Cassel fan next season?

What does he have to do to convince you he is worth the starting spot? I won't say worth the $ cause I don't think that will ever happen but, that being said....

No, Elway won SuperBowls when the Broncos provided him with a superstar running back (Davis) which feeds back into Mecca's theory about playmakers. Honestly, look at this year's playoff teams and tell me what trends you see. Manning, Favre, Brady. Fairly consistently, the best QBs in the game go to the playoffs. Cassel has a chance to Kerry Collins his way to the SuperBowl once (I really doubt it, but it is possible), but Cassel is not an elite QB to head a dynasty.

I'm hoping we bring in a QB coach to work on his mechanics. He may not ever have a live arm, but that doesn't mean with improved/consistent technique he can't make all the NFL throws.

The number of QBs that can go out there and consistently get it done with a bad line is small. I'd love to replace Cassel with somebody with Marino's release, but it's just not that simple.

It's funny that people look at the Marty Chiefs or Vermeil Chiefs as a total failure, yet continue to pimp these players on teams that have had equal success at best. I keep seeing the term "playmaker" yet a huge portion of playmakers in this league are going to end their career with less play-off wins than Marty.

If it's such a simple formula that so many Chiefs fans are just too stupid to grasp, why are there so many bad teams in the NFL?

I just seriously can't believe that we signed this guy to a long term contract. But I am hoping that he proves me wrong. I just don't know.

I'm not an agent nor am I an accountant, but from what I understand we have a somewhat easy way out of his contract after this year if it comes down to it.

That would be so awesome. I mean, I seriously hope that he proves me wrong, but I just haven't been convinced from the beginning. I just thought him to be a career backup and he hasn't done anything to change that in my mind.

Terrell Davis wasn't nearly as much of a playmaker as people make him out to be. It was Rat's zone block scheme that did it for them. That's why any person off of the street go go into Denver while he was there and run for 1,000. It puts the defense off its guard when they all have to worry about keeping their knees from folding out the wrong way.

Once again, the offensive line.

I don't think he and Pioli are as married as some would make them out to be.
