He said it may be damaged enough that I will never be completely out of pain, which would suck big time. The burning has left my legs, but it seems the hip and back pain is worse.

Can they not give you localized shots for your nerves?

I had 2 before my surgery and it didn't help. There was a bone spur grown around the nerve, he said it was shaped like a hour glass and the center had my nerve compressed, the dr said it had to have been that way for years, my legs started hurting back in 2005. Thats why he said it may be permenant damage. He said if I hadn't have had the surgery I could have ended up in a wheel chair, so I guess compared to what could have happened I can live with the pain. ( guess I won't have a choice)
