I saw a review on At the Movies not too long ago about a film called "Lebanon" from 2009, and they really liked it. The movie takes place almost entirely inside a tank and looked very interesting.
When I looked it up on Netflix they didn't have a DVD release date but they recommend the film "The Beast" from 1988, also a war film featuring a tank. I just watched it last night and I'm not a big fan of most action adventure movies but this one was great. It was about a Russian tank crew fighting the Afghanistan rebels in 1981. I gave it 9 stars, if you're into something like that, check it out. |

Watched Dead Air the other night...low budget flick in the vein of 28 Days Later and zombie movies, introduced a terrorist angle into it which was refreshing however.
Bill Moseley is a badass, period so it was worth it just for him. Just finished "The Reflecting Pool"...it's an indie movie about a possible 9/11 cover up. The acting in it isn't all that great but it was entertaining and something people like myself and tons of others have been waiting to see for quite some time. The amount of research Jarek Kupsc did for this movie is nuts...all from mainstream sources too. The story behind how this movie was made is amazing. Fixin to check out Series 7: The Contenders....looks odd but I heard it's worth a look. |

Watched a movie called Manito last night. It was a good movie about two brothers living in the Washington Heights section of NY.

I just got back in from seeing Machete. It was everything you expect it to be. My biggest complaint was that they put the best parts on the ads.
Well, except naked Lindsay Lohan, of course, but even that would have been a lot more appealing about five years ago. |

Just saw The American last night. I liked it a hell of a lot. A really calm, almost realistic assassin movie. Not what you would expect. One of those movies only George Clooney could carry.
Off to see Machete or Going the Distance (Go Charlie Day!) |

I've heard The American is being marketed like the Bourne movies, but it's much more slowly paced and introspective. True?

It is nowhere near as action packed as the Bourne movies, but I totally got the same feel of isolation as those movies. Very slowly paced and introspective, yes.
