I know everyone on CP hates Cassel.....

So, after listening to Petro's weekly PMS rant about people unfairly bashing Cassel, I started wondering. What would it take for people to actually.....LIKE Cassel? I don't know if there's a thread on this or not because I'm way too lazy to go through all of the Cassel bashing threads.

FWIW, I don't think Cassel is all that great either, but he can, at least, complete a pass once in awhile, unlike guys like Campbell.

What I think would sway my feelings toward him is to do what he did against the Broncos, only when it REALLY matters. I know it would go against our offensive philosophy, but teams are stacking the box on us so much that it looks like it has to be done.......so how about you guys?

If I get into my car and it doesn't start, I can just release the brake, put it into neutral and let roll me down the hill to the 7-11.

It works good enough to get me there.

That's the equal to Matt Cassel doing the job well enough to win.
I thought everywhere you went was uphill?

Truth hurts but this is how Pioli/Haley see Castle in many respects, "A rookie" who has shown big potential when the talent is around him. However, I believe now this 2nd half of the season will be the telltale if Cassel will be the future IMO.

And the bigger question will be if Cassel has a true melt down the rest of this season will Pioli be a big enough man to replace him, or will Pioli's ego try to force a square peg in a round hole?

Quite frankly I feel that Cassel got psychologically f'd last yr and is really struggling to trust what is around him and has developed happy feet and a happy arm. Can he recover this 2nd half of the season to show he is the future of the Chiefs? Time will tell but I say probably not.
Cassel was sacked more in '08 with the Patriots than he was in '09 with the Chiefs.

Scott Pioli brought him here because he had NFL experience.

He brought him here because he thought he could hit the ground running.

He didn't see him as rookie.

He is playing well enough so that the team is most likely going to finish 8-8 or better. Far better than we did last year, the year before and the year before that.

He may not get to a point that I think he can get to as a professional, but I also know he is miles better than you give him credit for.

Kick off those shoes and traipse around until January 15th and get back to me regarding how it worked out for you.
You're literally reeruned. Forrest Gump would point at you and laugh.

People here may be tired of Cassel, but nobody here thinks we have a better option this year. This is why we speak of drafting a QB to replace him. Not having another option this year does not make a franchise QB. As we've all learned, a $60,000,000 contract does not a franchise QB make.

Naming someone you'd rather have is more like debating authors. Some folks like old school Clancy, others prefer that vampire shit girls are reading today. If you asked someone who was a better writer they wouldn't say, "well, in my lap I have The Berenstein Bears and I'm too lazy to worry about what else is on the bookshelves. So I'll say this picture book is the best."

Idiot.

My original opinion of you was that you were a total ass. Looks like I was right.

Keep fantasizing about another QB in KC and then watch the rest of the games. What you will see is Cassel the rest of this year, dump him for Croyle and he will be back in a week. Bring in someone off the street and he will be back in a week. The only way Cassel is not the Chiefs QB the rest of this year will be due to injury.

You dipshits just don't understand that what you have is what you have. All the wishing in the world isn't going to change that. If you believe all of the bitching about Cassel is going to help the situation you are ****ed up.

I was definitely right.

He says in the post you quoted, you dumbass, that nobody here thinks we have a better option this year.

You are telling him something he already knows.

JFC, how difficult is that for you to understand?

If you get there, you're right, your car is good enough to get you there. "Well enough to win" and "super fantastic" aren't synonymous. You seem to be equating the two. The defense has played well enough to be 7-2, but that doesn't mean they've been the '85 Bears for 7 games this year.

No, I'm not equating the two.

The car didn't get me there.
Gravity did.

The tires didn't blow out, so that part of the car did it's job, but the engine didn't, and now when I want to get back up the hill, my car won't get me home.

Cassel didn't get us to 5 wins, the team did, in spite of the fact Cassel doesn't work.

Sorry milkman, your definition of "good enough" is bankrupt, IMO. Being good enough to get to the convenience store and being good enough to get back home are two different things.

Fail.

The car didn't do it's job getting me to the 7-11.
If the car did it's job, the engine would have started.

The car is not designed simply to roll downhill.

Still not understanding the concept of "good enough" as contrasted with "flawless" or "great" or "firing on all cylinders", huh? Keep ruminating.

"Even poor QB play is enough to win those games".

Poor QB play is enough to win games in the same way that my failed engine contributed to getting me to the 7-11, which is not at all.

You're such a bad liar. I have one friend request, that's from you. And I have lots of positive rep, pretty much all from you.

So you're the guy that pegged me as a total ass yet you wanted to be my friend and loved telling me how awesome I am, just like you're the guy that posts evidence that Suck Assel is a top 10 QB but you never said he was top 10 material and you can't name anyone in the NFL who's better.
