Marty Schottenheimer didn't like to play rookies and chose to play Ted Popson over Tony for most of his rookie season.

Popson started 12 games and played in 13 during Gonzalez rookie season and had 35 catches and two TD's. There's absolutely no way in the world that anyone can convince that Tony wouldn't have done the same, if not exceeded Popson's numbers.

I still remember all too well Popson's *stellar* performance during the Denver playoff game, the capstone of which was his world-class inability to get the **** out of bounds late in the game. Twice. Thanks, Ted!
