Spoiler!
But like I said, I thought it was a great movie overall.

I just watched Valhalla Rising, a Danish film about Vikings and Crusaders. It was everything you imagine a Danish film to be: plodding, self-important, glacially paced, ultimately pointless. It had a "holy shit" moment or two of the bad guy from Casino Royale eviscerating some poor shlub or another, but really you can skip it.
And definitely skip Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief, which is a pretty awful Harry Potter clone. Just go back and watch Harry Potter again, you'll be much happier. |

I'm going to have to re-think my 2009 top 10 list. Because the British indie drama Fish Tank deserves to be on it. What a truly powerful piece of filmmaking.

Can somebody help me out?
I am trying to find the title to a french film that I know very little about. I believe it is about a 19 y/o french girl that may be wealthy and is an indiana jones type of character. I do not know if it has been made or has been out for a few years. I just want to read about it and/or watch it if I can. Thanks. edit: Bump. Anyone?

Watched Inception and really enjoyed it. I'm not blown away by the philosophy or ideas contained within it or anything. I was more blown away by Nolan, once again, proving his ability to juggle extremely complex storylines and ideas while keeping it thought-provoking, entertaining and accessible. A less talented director would turn this script into a muddled, unwatchable mess.

So if Juno and 500 Days of Summer had a love child, it would probably be Rocket Science. An odd, quirky movie that somehow worked. Had a lot of lol moments.
If I had a complaint it'd be the ending, but it's not a deal breaker.
