When you're up two scores you gotta prove YOU DA MAN and get into God Mode and pass the ball all the **** over the field. That's what Franchise guys do. They chuck the rock even harder with a two score lead. Until Cassel can do this, we should all be weary... |

Not when you are trying to continually set new standards for QB play.

This team rallied around Matt Cassel. The defense played flat in the first series, but when they saw that Cassel wasn't going to be limited by his condition, they stepped up.

Kinda cracks me up...Cassel lovers say "EVERYONE" is against Cassel. Cassel haters say "EVERYONE" wants to crown him. This board is rediculously exaggerative.
I think that the guys that have been hard core against Cassel (and I was one of them) are coming around some and appreciative of his improvement. You guys that think that he is our franchise guy are going to have to realize that we expect more from a guy with this level of a contract than good heart (which he is showing) and few mistakes. We will acknowledge and support him as our starter and appreciate what he has accomplished this season. But franchise guys in today's game are 3500 yards per year and have the ability to take the game over. He's not there in our view yet. Having said that, I'm on the bandwagon for appreciating his heart and toughness. I think with another strong receiver (Fitz), he could look impressive. He's no Brady for sure, he's no Rogers or Rivers or Brees. He's a Dilfer so far. And Dilfer as decent as he may be, doesn't deserve that kind of money. |

We live for another day. Matt Cassel is a huge part of that reason. And yes, you can find all sorts of hater posts from Coogs... even up through the first few games of this season. Dude is a gamer. |

I have to also say that I do have my fork out and am enjoying my Bar-B-Q Crow. Hoping for a little more of it.

If the Chiefs receivers were the strength of this football team (instead of a glaring weakness), Cassel's numbers would be MUCH higher. |

I still believe that they should have opened that game up for Brodie last week and let him throw the ball down the field. They gave him no time and nothing but short route pass plays, playing to a stacked box. Finally, they opened up the offense a little in the second quarter. That's just coaching |

It's true he's not a franchise QB yet and may never be. Probably never comes even close to Rodgers, Brees, or Rivers. And 100% agree that he has a lot to prove still--how will he fare against better competition? Can he pull it off in the playoffs? But I disagree with your definition of a game manager, as if that's a bad thing. In most of the Steelers' best years, Big Ben was below 3,500 yards. And Dilfer was a guy who had as many INTs as he did TDs. It's only the NFC West, but it's not accurate to say that the Cassel who beat Arizona, Seattle, and St. Louis is Trent Dilfer. The Chiefs won each of these games largely due to Cassel, not in spite of him. |
