I watched a lot of wrestling during the "Attitude" era(98-01). The CM Punk angle has me interested in the WWE again for the first time in a long time.

I just got back from the show, and holy shit what a good one to decide to attend. Obviously, the crowd was nuclear for Punk the entire night, and only little kids were cheering for Cena.
The opener was amazing, mainly because Dragon won it out of nowhere. I was a nice little homage to his ROH days when he was hitting Barrett with the MMA elbows on top of the ladder and then kicked his head in. If they decide cool off the Orton/Christian feud and leave Christian with the belt, a Dragon/Christian feud could work very well. The women's match absolutely sucked balls, and not in a good way. The WWE brass should watch some Shimmer dvds to see hows its done. The Henry/Big Show match was a yawner as well, but the match wasn't the important part, it was all about the injury angle after the match so it served its purpose. The Raw MITB match was fun, but not as good as the Smackdown match overall, I think mainly because it was a foregone conclusion that Del Rio was going to win. I have to say the Miz was a fan favorite by the reactions I heard. I also think its funny that Mysterio goes full reerun when his mask is pulled off even though he wrestled for like a year with it off in WCW (which I guess now didn't really happen). The Christian/Orton match was fun and well-booked. I figured Christian would goad Orton into doing something stupid and he did. The crowd popped huge for the second RKO on the announce table. I don't think I need to say too much about the main event. It was the most invested I have been in a wrestling match since the late 90's. My wife and I were there sporting our Colt Cabana shirts so it was fun seeing him in the front row. They really showed CM Punk to be a complete mastermind by kicking Del Rio and then hightailing it out of the ring through the crowd so he couldn't get pinned. Vince laid out Johnny Ace on the ramp after the show went off the air. |

It wasn't awful. The only thing I really hated was the divas.
Fact is, there's never going to be a show, A or B, where every match is good. Even (especially) mania is mostly filler. Tonight's show featured 4 very strong matches with 4 very good finishes, although I thought Orton's bit on Christian was overkill. |

I'm still shocked that WWE booked the ending the way that they did. Wow wow wow.

Welcome back WWE. I have not have a shit about you since 01. Started watching back near mania. Not a huge punk lover like the net junkies but that guy is legit and a great heel on the Mic. Wow. Best ppv I may have ever seen.

Wow one of the best matches I have ever seen. It was so great because I seriously could not predict what was going to happen. I hope I see more stuff like this from the WWE, but im not holding my breathe, at least for 1 night WWE did it right.

I don't remember if I mentioned it here or not, but there are new head writers for both Raw and SD. Gerwitz and Hayes were both promoted (although I think one of them still oversees the writing team). So this could feasibly be the beginning of a change of some kind in WWE.

also that was one of the best crowd interaction I have ever seen. It was almost like listening to a football game with the way the crowd would go crazy with a simple arm toss by cm punk.

It was great. Even better is that DirecTV comp'd the PPV for free for us. I would check your bills for hidden/mystery fee's. Our is on auto deduct but I noticed some weird shit and well, it led to a $540 service credit earlier today and a free PPV.
Cena did a good job of wrestling tonight for a change. It was clearly his longest match and his drubbing of Johnny Ace was a perfect distraction to give Punk the win. I like how it ended but it would have been cool to have Daniel and Alberto cash in and LOSE. Either way, it was great stuff. Even the divas. They are just easy on the eyes.

Interestingly it appears they changed the finish. Del Rio was going to cash in and win. There was even an article (briefly) on WWE.com that I think referenced (it mentioned Cena not being fired because Punk didn't leave with the belt).
