Would MU be winning 10/season in the SEC? No, no they would not. But they'd still put together 3 non-con wins every season and probably end up around 7 or 8 wins and bowl eligible for a few years before they hopefully make the leap to the major leagues.

I'm sorry, it sounds homery, but MU's winning 10 games with some regularity now and is pulling legitimately high end prospects every season. They're nabbing 4 star quarterbacks out of Texas at this point. There's no reason to believe they'd get 'raped' in any conference in the country. They're no powerhouse, but they're a legitimate top 25 program.
Fair enough...

KU would have zero shot, unless they brought in a old school SEC ball coach. Back up a Brinks truck and pray that you dont end up on probation. LOL

KU would be raped in the SEC in football... But would probably basketball Rape the conference with Kentucky for many years to come.

What if the PAC doesn't do as well as they think, would the Arizona schools consider making an Arizona Network and jumping? Will Arkansas continue to feel like an outsider in the SEC? That's a lot of time to take stock which you can buy with a ND and BYU.
Why would the SEC admit that they are trying to go to 16? If they want 16 teams, the last thing they want to do is to let the PAC 12 and B1G know because they would suddenly be in competition for schools.

If they're smart, and they are, they will. Do their level best to have everything in order before the other conferences know what hit them.

There is a non-zero chance that a move to the SEC would be the catalyst Mizzou needs to reach its potential. There are, I believe, 4 billionaires in Columbia alone. The school isn't lacking for potential mega-boosters.

Fan support would need to reach the next level for Mizzou to be a strong mid-tier SEC program, on par with Georgia, UT, Auburn, Arky, etc on a yearly basis (Bama, Florida, LSU are on another level). No more acting like we are too cool to attend XYZ bowl or to sell out for no-name university.

If you haven't personally experienced the SEC, it is hard to imagine how seriously these people take college sports. They are intense. These are the programs we would have to beat top recruits for.

Just think, last year Mizzou had a great year in attendance for us, ranking #25 nationally.

That would have ranked only 9th in the SEC though.

There's 8 BILLION in financial support consolidated in 3 people that live in Columbia, Mo. And all of them are quite supportive of MU athletics when they need to be (just witness the Painter fiasco, the Page arena, the baseball stadium, etc, etc...). Even beyond those 3, there's a ton of local money in Columbia, it's really surprising once you get about 5 minutes north of town to the wooded districts - million dollar homes everywhere.

There's a shitload of money available to this school and it may be possible that a move to the SEC gets those boosters to lay more of it out to keep par with those schools. How great would a major overhaul/replacement of Faurot field be? Afterall, we don't compare to Memorial Stadium, let alone those monsters in the south.

A move to the SEC may be just what the program would need to become more than just the sleeping giant it's been referred to for the last 1/4 century. Maybe a higher degree of difficulty is what wakes this program up.
But you have an awkward way of saying it...

I totally agree. It might help to have a rival that plays football, though. When you're rolling in top teams every week, the interest level is only going to rise. Who cares about ISU, Colorado, K-State, Kansas, Baylor, aTm, and Texas Tech from a football standpoint?

Nebraska, Texas, and Oklahoma are the only teams we've played with any panache, and we don't (didn't) play 2 of them every year.

See my post above, relax yo...I seriously thought you were joking.

But to the point, I've been saying since last summer that geographically this superconfence idea isn't going to happen. Not only that but I think the Big 12 could easily move on without Texas A&M even if they ended up trying to go anywhere. They aren't even being asked....it's just media idiots wrecking their reputations by trying to get attention making so much shit up.

Neb and Col both moved to places that make sense regionally. The Big 12 is not breaking up and all these teams moving to the coasts. No one wants that.

I think your idea that this is simply media created is what is funny. Because school presidents meet, regents meet, state legislatures spring to action when Doug Gottleib makes Tweets.
