If they could get Notre Dame, which I doubt knowing the Irish, you would figure BYU and Air Force would be the others mainly bc they are Notre Dame & Texas allies.
South Division Texas Notre Dame BYU Air Force Baylor Texas Tech North Division Missouri Oklahoma Oklahoma State Kansas Kansas State Iowa State 8 game schedule mainly for ND's liking, plus a permanent cross over: Texas-Oklahoma Notre Dame-Missouri Texas Tech-Oklahoma State Baylor-Kansas BYU-Kansas State Air Force-Iowa State Like I said, chances are slim but it could actually work. |

KU and KSU are an afterthought in the Big 12. The rest of the Big 12 wouldn't give a shit what happens to the Kansas teams. |

This isn't as much of a shit your pants situation as last year bc worst case scenario for Mizzou is they wind up in the Big East. Which would suck really hard but it is a decent worst case compared to other worst cases.
If a conference arms race starts Missouri is a nice grab for the B10 or SEC. |

Regardless. Neither have much to offer any conference in terms of big time sports... Knee pads guys. Time to earn your way into a conference... But my guess is they will sit around and basically be left out in the cold and latch on to whomever will "let them" into a conference... |

I don't think 16 is in any immediate plans. At least not until 2016, if then. Even the SEC is talking about taking small steps to 14 before going to 16. If you can get to 12 in this fashion, and it proves successful, then you can look at expansion if that looks like what others will do. Further, you don't know the actual success of other conferences. What if the PAC doesn't do as well as they think, would the Arizona schools consider making an Arizona Network and jumping? Will Arkansas continue to feel like an outsider in the SEC? That's a lot of time to take stock which you can buy with a ND and BYU.

I agree 100% ND and BYU would be a huge get for the Big 12 conference. |

Given this or the SEC, from a fan standpoint, I'd rather the above scenario. But it's not gonna happen.

If the SEC snipes A&M, I agree that it's probably not the end of the world as I believe it would be a sign of significant SEC expansion, which would trigger B1G expansion, which would get the PAC10 going as well. Mizzou would surely land in one of the SEC or B1G situations. However, if it's just enough instability to lead the P10 to make another big push toward grabbing OU and OSU or something like that, which could implode the conference without triggering wholesale expansion among the SEC and B1G, Mizzou would be in a whole lot of trouble. Last season the most realistic scenario's had MU left holding it's dick and the slight possibility left us with a nice home. This season the most likely scenarios leave us with a nice home, but there's still a chance we're left holding our dicks here. And there's always that chance when Aldon's running the show...

MU would be at the same spot as Arkansas... not the top of the SEC, but hardly getting raped.

Ol' Miss, Kentucky, Miss, Vandy, TN; they can all be beaten and are no worse than comparable programs to MU (most of them worse). Arkansas is about neck and neck with us as well and I'm not convinced LSU is any better than MU with Miles at the helm. Would MU be winning 10/season in the SEC? No, no they would not. But they'd still put together 3 non-con wins every season and probably end up around 7 or 8 wins and bowl eligible for a few years before they hopefully make the leap to the major leagues. I'm sorry, it sounds homery, but MU's winning 10 games with some regularity now and is pulling legitimately high end prospects every season. They're nabbing 4 star quarterbacks out of Texas at this point. There's no reason to believe they'd get 'raped' in any conference in the country. They're no powerhouse, but they're a legitimate top 25 program.
