Forget 3 years. May mercy fall on us that its nothing more than this one. This is the year for Pioli. If he can't admit his mistake this offseason I don't think there is much hope. I like the direction we have taken, despite the draft mistakes. There is no excuse for him to not give Stanzi a chance later this season, or at the VERY least, fix his mistake this offseason.

How many franchises bench someone just to give a 5th round pick a chance?

Especially at QB? And yes, we know, Cassel sucks, no need to rehash...

well maybe not......but how many have a qb as stinky as Cassel?...he is performing like a 7th rounder...so having a 5th rounder replace him is perfect good sense..yes?

I cant think of any.....

Most franchises have their QB situation figured out at least in the short term. There aren't many opportunities for teams to turn to 5th round rookies midseason.

But if you want examples, I think the last one would be Max Hall taking over for Derek Anderson in Arizona. Before that it might just be Trent Edwards in Buffalo.
