Adam Schefter chiefs will tag bowe if they cant work out a deal
Evan Silva@evansilvaReply
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports #Chiefs will franchise tag Dwayne Bowe if no long-term deal is struck before March 5: http://bit.ly/xkI0cJ ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Chiefs plan to use the franchise tag on free agent Dwayne Bowe. This is assuming the sides can't reach a long-term deal, which they almost certainly won't before the March 5 franchise deadline. The wideout tag is worth $9.5 million, and Bowe would cost at least $11 million a year to lock up. One GM told Schefter that he anticipates "as many as" 25 franchise tags being used this offseason, largely because the salary numbers are down across the board. |

what's sad is that you seem to think that this information means your are right about something?
The Chiefs have 2 choices ... tag Bowe or tag Carr my point was that with all the WR's available in free agency that it might be smarter to tag Carr. we'll see ...

who had more value in a tag/trade, Bowe in a bumper WR crop or Carr who might be the best available at his position?

That's a good plan. Hey, I know, let's trade Carr for a receiver!

Don't want the roster to be overburdened by talent.

Use that 8.5 mil instead of getting oline. Get that in the draft.

I'd just rather tag Bowe and then tag him again next year (as I understand it, you can tag a player twice at the normal FT rate, then a third time at a higher rate) at that point, sign him to a reasonable deal.
He really no leverage in this. |
