FYI Luv, diet stuff and artificial sweeteners have the same effects as the sugar, just without the calories. It will still spike your insulin and it will still make you crave.
Drink more water - it keeps you full and its good for you. Many times thirst is mistaken for hunger.

I'm wading through all of that. Just doing some reading, and remembering what my trainer told me last year. Carbs before a workout and protein after. So, on derby practice nights, I plan to eat some yogurt before practice, and try to find a protein to eat after. If all else fails I could have a protein smoothie after practice, and try to eat some eggs in the mornings. The thing I have with eating too much after practice is that we don't get done until 9 or 10 at night, and I hate eating that late. A lot of times, a group of girls will go somewhere for half price appetizers somewhere after practice, so I end up going and hanging out. I may have to start just getting water and carrying a protein bar in my purse. |

thats why I said I'd eat the steak. Of course, if you skipped a meal, and just at that steak, you'd be deficient in many of the essential vitamins your body needs. If, on the other hand, you had a 24 oz meatless chili with beans, red peppers, onions, tomatos, green peppers, and mushrooms, you'd also be full enough to skip a meal, consume less than 1400 calories, and provide your body with all of the essential fats, minerals, and vitamins it needs.

While I do need to lose more weight, that isn't necessarily the reason for wanting to change. I know we've gotten into that side of making changes. I've just heard so many people that have tried it comment (in passing, not that they're pushing that lifestyle change on anyone else) on how great they feel. I've heard it from enough people, that I want to try. I really think that just eating seafood will be good. I just have to watch how it's prepared. Sure, shrimp is good, but not really if it's battered and deep fried, cooked and served with gobs of butter, etc.
