Ok, now for the GOOD of the Smith trade...

Not to say there is a ton of good but let's try and point out some goodness from it since it is a done deal...

1. It means Cassel is gone....
2. We have a QB who actually has experience in college and more than part of 1 season in the pro's for the first time since?????
3. We still hold our #1 pick and could still pick up a QB in the draft
4. Smith is a viable backup should #3 come about

Ok, well that's all I got .....

Since when does asking a question, become IGNORANT. i was trying to ask a serious question. A simple no would of worked out. Either way, id rather draft joeckel, than pay out a ton to albert. Joeckels ceiling is higher, and hes younger, and then you can spend that money keeping Bowe.

Im pulling for the chiefs now dude. I dont know why you are so effing hostile with me. I gave you the positives of alex smith, and asked a question. So testy.

No, you're not pulling for the Chiefs. You came here to pat us on the head and give encouragement that Smith will be more than he's been over the course of his career. I'm hostile because we've done the same exact thing with other teams' cast off losers for 40 years. And we haven't won a single playoff game over those 40 years. So **** you if I'm not peaches and gumdrops. Your cast off QB, who your team gave up on, is not wanted here. No amount of "Aww shucks guys, it won't be so bad" from your fanbase is going to change that. Your team just ****ed my team. So **** you.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

More good features of this trade:

5. Fans of some teams actually have to worry about whether they will make the Super Bowl. This ensures there will continue to be no such uncertainty for the next few years.

6. We can recycle our Steve Bono and Elvis Grbac jerseys since we effectively just reacquired them.

7. The draft picks we sent to San Fransisco will help give us the chance to see our 2021 starter, Colin Kaepernick, play in a few additional Super Bowls.

All I know is it seems fans are either really happy or really pissed and never inbetween.

First CHunt was a bitch because he wasn't going to fire Pioli
Then ChHunt was a hero because he fired Pioli
Dorsey was a stud until this Smith trade now he isn't
Reid was going to be trusted until he did this and now he isn't

I'm not thrilled with this trade at all and am holding out hope it was just a move to get a veteran here while we break in a drafted QB.

Having said all that, if this move was to make Smiith the QBOTF, Reid\Dorsey obviously didn't\haven't seen anything worth a shit in this draft for QB's.

Given the collective wisdom of our new staff, I just don't think things are going to pan out as bad as many are speculating right now.

Ideally we draft a QB whether it's Smith or Wilson or whomever, and have Alex Smith here as the stop-gap.

I do believe we upgraded the QB position but just not the way I expected. I guess I hope this works out but I also want us to just roll the dice on a QB in the draft. I think for this coming year A.Smith would have a bigger impact then a rookie, but after that then what. I just don't get it. I want to give this regime the benefit of the doubt but I did that last time so I don't know. Every year of being a fan of this team 20+ and counting I drink the kool-aid but this last year and so far this offseason its starting to taste bitter. I don't give up on them but I just can't believe this is happening again sorry for rambling I just blown away...
