They don't deserve an 11 or 12 seed - those belong to teams that are underrated throughout the year and may actually accomplish something in the tournament.
No, the 8/9 spot is perfect for an overrated paper tiger that you want to see the !@#$ out of the tournament as quickly as possible

Tennessee beat Missouri. Alabama beat Missouri. Missouri only won TWO road games in their entire SEC schedule. Anybody who predicts good things for Missouri in an NCAA basketball tournament is delusional. Look at their history, man.... |

The guys on 810 were discussing that last week. Of course this was before the Tennessee loss and the SEC tourney. They were saying if we lost to Tennessee wed be better off dropping to a 10/11 seed than getting the 8/9 seed. OF COURSE WED BE BETTER OFF. 8/9 seeds are the worst seed you can get, which is why they give them to the teams that on paper you have to let in, but really have no business being in. You let those #1 seeds right the wrong of letting the piece of shit in in the first place |

Wow....which Tigers do I hate the most?
Ricky Clemons is easy. But Snyder was an idiot to recruit him. Derek Grimm: Didn't move up to stop Tyus Edney. Let him go coast to coast to cost us a Final Four. Stupid ****. The Haley Twins: Two guys, but one player. Good for four points and ten fouls a game. Kim English and Marcus Denmon: I can never forgive them for losing to Norfolk ****ing State. Travis Ford: Leaving Missouri to go to Kentucky. I'm sure his heritage as a Tiger will mean a first round loss for OSU in the NCAA.. Clarence Gilbert: Never saw a three point shot he didn't like. Shot 18 of them in one NCAA tournament game VS. UCLA. |

This guy puts you as the 19th most "beautiful" team to watch play in the tourney. You got us beat there.

9 is perfect for them. Coin flip first round game, then fed to Louisville.

Oh well, one bright spot.
Larry Eustachy is the CSU coach. So, maybe if we send a case of Natty Light to his hotel room, he'll show up for the game in the bag.... |

Man, I can't get behind the Gilbert hate. I know, he loved him some 3 pointers, but even on the days he didn't hit, he played ferocious defense and refused to let his teammates quit. He was a great leader, good defender, good passer and when he was on, dynamite scorer. No, he wasn't perfect, but he was essentially a much better version of Thomas Gardner. I can't hate that guy.

Dixon really ****ed this team over. Would anyone really be surprised if they won 4-5 more games and been a 3-4 seed with him this year?

Gilbert was like Pressey. Never knew when to quit shooting.
Hey, I'll admit, I'm just in a really bad freaking mood. I think point shaving allegations may come to light later about this years team. KU gets a number one seed; KU and KSU both get to play in KC. Mizzou NEVER got to play anywhere in the state of Missouri during the NCAAs. Oh well.... such is our lot. At least there is one constant with Mizzou basketball. Every year there's a golden girl with a motor-driven backside that makes me feel all funny inside. Last edited by gblowfish; 03-17-2013 at 06:54 PM.. |

Unlike Pressey, Gilbert actually hit fairly often.
Also, unlike Pressey, when Gilbert wasn't hitting he was still killing himself on the defensive end. People forget that Gilbert was never expected to be a scorer; he was a defensive specialist. And he was a damn good defender. Gilbert was a great Tiger.

If you are going to hate Buck Grimm then you have to also hate Jason Sutherland. He was just as responsible for Tyus Edney as Grimm was.... I can't hate Marcus Denmon...although I still shake my head at them losing to Norfolk State. I will always look back at the shot from over half court at the end of the first half a$$-kicking that MU handed Memphis and smile. Plus several other nice reminders of his 4 years at MU. Everyone else on this list gets a big thumbs-up from me. Might even add a couple more if I actually thought about it. |

In further defense of Gilbert - he averaged right at 38% from behind the arc in his 3 years as a starter. That's awfully good from 3 and came with a guy that was also an elite perimeter defender.
Put Clarence Gilbert on this team instead of Phil Pressey and it's a top 10 team with legitimate Final 4 potential.
